Bragg Lumber Company the world’s leading producer of Wild Blueberries, and one of North America’s leading  farming operators has immediate labourer positions available on our Aylesford, Nova Scotia farm.

Workers are required to perform repetitive tasks, involving lifting between twenty to sixty pounds frequently, squatting,  and working long hours in support of wild blueberry farming.  You will be caring for and moving flats of bees to pollinate blueberry crops. 

Experience an asset.  No degree, certificate or diploma required.

This is an eight month full time seasonal position from April to November.

Wages $13.03/hr.

Material Handler

Oxford Frozen Foods is currently seeking for full time, year round material handlers to join our Production team within our Processing and Warehousing Facilities, located in Oxford, NS.

The material handler will handle, move, load and unload materials by hand or by operating a forklift.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload and move products and materials by operating a forklift
  • Perform other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking.
  • Operate forklifts to transfer frozen or fresh  fruits or vegetables from transportation vehicles to processing lines or  storage areas
  • May perform other activities, such as opening containers and crates, filling warehouse orders, assisting in taking inventory and weighing and checking materials.

Requirements:

  • English Language – level four minimum
  • College or other certificate or diploma program
  • One-year similar experience

Oxford Frozen Foods is currently seeking ten full time, year round process operators to join our Production team within our Processing Facilities, located in Oxford, NS.

The process operator will control and operate multi-function process control machinery and single-function machines to process and package food.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verify specified processing conditions and make adjustments to processes used to peel and slice onions or process frozen blueberries or carrots
  • Set up and adjust processing and packaging machines
  • Operate single-function machines to box frozen fruits and vegetables
  • Check products to ensure conformance to company standards and clear machine blockages as required
  • Record production information such as quantity, weight, size, date and type of products packaged
  • Perform corrective machine adjustments, clean machines and immediate work areas.

Requirements:

  • English Language – level four minimum
  • College or other certificate or diploma program
  • One-year similar experience

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the successful candidate will have knowledge of food processing and GMPs, problem solving skills and strong oral and written communications skills.  An undergrad Science degree is an asset.  Must be able to work independently and as part of a team and be organized with a professional attitude.

Candidate must be able to work flexible hours including weekends.

You have a proven ability to lead a team of technicians and guide the facility regarding HACCP requirements, audits and complaints whether internal, from customers or suppliers.

Must be bilingual.

La personne devra être bilingue. Un baccalauréat en sciences serait un atout. La personne devra pouvoir travailler seul et en équipe, être organisée et avoir une attitude professionnelle.

Elle devra pouvoir travailler selon un horaire flexible, qui comprend les fins de semaine.

Elle devra avoir des compétences reconnues quant à diriger une équipe de techniciens et à conseiller l’usine par rapport aux exigences en matière d’ARMPC (HACCP), aux vérifications et aux plaintes, soient-elles à l’interne ou provenant de clients ou de fournisseurs.
